NVA P50 Passive Preamplifier
This is NVA’s entry-level unit for those starting off with their first separate pre/power amp combination. Whilst it is a cost-effective way of entering the world of multi-box amplification, it is still built with the finest quality components you would expect from NVA.
Being of passive design, it is utterly transparent and has no sound of its own, simply being a conduit for the music from record/CD or other musical source. It really is an open window onto the signal it is fed.
NVA P50sa Passive Preamplifier
This is available as a new, ready-built unit or as an upgrade option for those who already own the standard P50. The ‘sa’ stands for stepped-attenuator where each setting of the volume control has the shortest possible signal path. Improvements over the already superb standard P50 are greater transparency, improved dynamics and even more musical detail. That opening in the musical window has just become a little wider.
NVA P90 Passive Preamplifier
With the P90 we now have volume control split into two, completely separate channels. By doing so it will have a similar effect to moving from a single power amp to dual mono blocks. Increased dynamic nuance and headroom are the first things we notice, plus even more spacious soundstage and ambient detail.
NVA P90sa Passive Preamplifier
The flagship pre-amp of the ‘black box’ series. This replaces the pair of standard volume pots (the same type as used on the standard P50) with a pair of stepped attenuators. Whilst these take longer to run-in vs the standard volume pot – each setting on the volume control has its own resistor after all – the wait is well worth it. That musical window is now even wider.
